First day back in Ministry.

Boat trip to Santiago. Group of 13 or 14, smaller than high season, but still good. Did several hours of door-to-door territory,  up and down very hilly streets. It was garbage collection day, got caught behind the truck briefly until found time and place to squeeze past it. The ministry here is exhausting [I may be using that word too often, the thinner air and rugged terrain really takes a toll.] Part of it is lack of fitness, part is age, and part is 2 years old. Lydia is a trooper in service,  but tires quickly and wants to be carried.  Raquel ends up taking the brunt of the load, and does relatively well. But once freed of the extra burden, one feels as if you could float away.

The ministry at times seems fruitless searching for English speakers in a predominantly Spanish neighborhood,  but many of the brothers identify us as Testigo de Jehova, providing a good witness throughout the territories.

  1. Sounds very challenging. Some encouragement . . . At Wednesday's meeting experiences with the car work were given. People are circling and coming back, they've passed by but this week they're stopping by and taking literature, and more and more conversations are taking place.
You are being noticed, and people will be coming out of the woodwork.
I put in a 7-hour day yesterday, and there were no sharp jabs in my foot. Submitted my application for Auxiliary (continuous). Thanks you guys for stepping up, and for your willingness to share your experiences, you are VERY encouraging! Miss you so much!

    1. Good for you! Did first stand witnessing with John yesterday, had two Israelis stop and chat, never heard of Jehovah's Witnesses before. She snapped the QR.

    1. Quick Response. The little square computer scan code on the back of all the literature.

  3. Auxiliary never panned out. I'm very weak from laying around with my foot, and I let my depression take over, so cookies, candy bars, pastries, pizzas, etc., etcc.,
As of last week, however, I managed to start mustering up some self-control. It will take awhile to gain strength, however, everything I put in has to come out! Mind over matter. I don't want to visit and not be able to join you in the ministry, so it might be awhile. Are there at least a few less temptations there?!
On the upside, our temps have been mid 40s, even a 50° day! Reality arrived today . . . the mid to high 30s, so not bad, and the days DO start getting longer today. Yay!
